So… I did a thing. I decided to start a blog so everyone curious (or just a little nosy — no judgment) can follow along on my slightly chaotic, totally heartfelt, and definitely curiouser and curiouser journey of opening Alice’s Teapot Café — a cute cafe born somewhere between heartbreak, healing, and a possibly undiagnosed case of Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (Google it — it’s trippy and oddly on brand).
And let me tell you, friends — it took a whole lotta hutzpah (yes, I spelled it like a boss) to get to this point. The lease? Signed. Negotiations? Complete. Construction? Beginning. And by construction, I mean both actual construction (cue the licensed contractors doing all the permitted things) and the metaphorical rebuilding of a dream that’s part fairy tale, part therapy, and part soup-sandwich-and-sparkle-fueled determination.
This whole venture is bittersweet — like the perfect semi-sweet chocolate chips in an ooey-gooey cookie. Because not long ago, I lost my son — my best friend, my soul twin, and my would-be baker. This café was our dream, something we dreamed up over coffee and crazy Pinterest boards, and now... it's my mission. I’m continuing this dream for him — because I know he’s somewhere cheering me on with flour in his hair and a whisk in hand. And here’s where fate did its magic: I bought an existing business from a truly amazing woman — who sold it so she could spend more time with her son. I mean, come on. That’s not just coincidence, that’s cosmic choreography.
So, what can you expect at Alice’s Teapot Café? Picture this: a cute, enchanted forest-meets-wonderland vibe, homemade desserts, whimsical teas, wildly satisfying soups and sandwiches, and — wait for it — a fancy-pants Solato gelato + sorbet machine that’s like a Keurig but for frozen magic. I’ll need your feedback on this one — because it’s eco-friendly, cool, and quite possibly my favorite gadget (don’t tell my blender).
And yes, as giddy as I am, I’m also nervous. I’ve never put a price tag on my art or food before — but here we are, in Delray, serving ice cream and tea and memories, and hoping to create an escape for everyone who walks through the door.
Coming soon: high teas, sip & paint parties, decoupage classes, and maybe a little karaoke (don’t worry, I’ll sing quietly). A friend already wants to host chess meetups, and I’m like — yes! Let the Mad Hatter’s tournaments begin!
So, to wrap this little tea party of an intro up:Hi, I’m Christine. I make weird art, magical soup, and dream-fueled lattes. Welcome to my mad, mad world — and to Alice’s Teapot Café, where being a little lost is half the fun.
Drop your ideas, your love, your vibes — I’m all ears, peeps.
